ESR9 -Soft Electrode for Tactile Feedback

Improved residual peripheral nerve stimulation by means of novel soft intraneural electrodes.

TAGS   Biological Touch   Prosthetics   Technologies for Touch

Overview

Objectives

Improved residual peripheral nerve stimulation by means of novel soft intraneural electrodes. The fellow will develop new soft electrodes (based on PDMS or polyimide) to improve coupling between neural tissue and stimulating electrodes. He/she will specifically target biocompatibility, information transfer, durability, minimising tissue reaction and encapsulation, similarly to what previously published in Wurth et al., Biomaterials, 2017.

Expected Results

Novel soft intraneural electrode integrated on prosthetic devices and used to convey sensory feedback.
